I’ve done quite a bit of research on these vacuums and plan to share my knowledge here with you.

Dyson has really stepped their game up with the DC-25 ball vacuum.

If you have used the standard four wheel, squared vacuum then you may share in the many frustrations of dirt/hair being left behind, not being able to get around objects like tables, chairs, and couches. The headaches stop NOW!

What is the Ball™ Technology?

If you look underneath conventional upright vacuums they sit on four fixed wheels which make it hard to maneuver and only allow the vacuum to go back and forth.

Dyson has done away with wheels. The new Dyson upright machines ride on a ball so it turns on demand by a simple turn of your wrist. And it’s not just any ball because inside the ball lies the motor which gives the machine a lower center of gravity and improves maneuverability even further.

The ball itself is made from glass-reinforced polypropylene. The same material used in car dashboards so you don’t have to worry about this puppy breaking easily.

 

Why Does it Pick Up More Dirt?

One of the reasons the dyson ball vacuum picks up more dirt is because of the Root Cyclone™ technology which means Dyson vacuums don’t lose suction power as you clean. Dyson vacuum uses patented cyclone technology to spin the dirt out of the air so it not only picks up more dirt but expels cleaner air.

The Mini Turbine (comes with the DC25 Animal) removes pet hair and dirt from tight spaces such as upholstery, stairs and the car while the powerful bristles of the Motorized brush bar removes dirt and pet hair from carpets.

The Motorized brush bar does turn on and off depending if you are on carpet, wood, or tile floors.

Not to mention the fact that the digital motor spins at up to 104,000 times a minute (five times faster than a racing car engine).

All Dyson upright and canister vacuums are bagless so say goodbye to the monthly trip to your local vacuum shop to replace your bags.

It also comes with a Lifetime washable HEPA filter designed to trap microscopic allergens. So you also never have to buy filters again which can get real expensive!

Who is the Dyson Ball Vacuum For?

We have to be honest at a price tag between $400-$600 this vacuum is NOT for everyone.

If you are someone with some or all of the below factors then the dyson ball vacuum may be for you

• If you have cats, dogs, or any pets that shed a lot of hair
• If you have kids constantly running in and out of the house with their shoes on
• If you own a construction or any type of cleaning company
• If you have allergies
• If you are tired of continuing to buy vacuums every couple years that DO NOT WORK!

What are the Cons of the Dyson?

First and foremost is the price! It is not the cheapest vacuum on the market but it is definitely worth the investment. You can find some great deals on Amazon.com but it’ll still run you about $400-$600 depending which model you purchase.

A few other cons:

• The extension cord is a bit short but not a big deal
• Don’t wait three months (as recommended) to attempt cleaning the filters especially if you are picking up a lot of hair and dirt. Your filter will get clogged pretty quick. Clean out monthly and you should be ok.

With an average Amazon rating of 4 stars I would say most customers ARE happy with their purchase. As you can see in the image below there are 444 reviews and more then HALF are 5 star rated!

Is There Any Warranty?

You will be happy to know that all dyson ball vacuums come with a 5 years warranty where parts and labor are included.

The Different Dyson Ball Models

There are quite a few different models of the dyson ball but just a few differences between them

• DC 25 Animal
• DC 25 All Floors

• Dyson DC35
• Dyson DC23

The only difference between the Animal and All Floors is the Animal comes with the Mini Turbine which removes pet hair and dirt from tight spaces such as upholstery, stairs and the car.

The difference between the DC 24 and DC 25 is the DC 24 is a bit smaller, lighter and a little less sunction power so basically consider it the little brother of the DC 25.

In summary if you want the heavy duty Big Popa vacuum go with the DC 25 Animal which is superior  to the other 3.

If you live in a bit smaller apartment or house and don’t need all the bells and whistles of the DC 25 consider going the the DC 24. It’s light, smaller easier to store but yet still performs at the level Dyson has built up.

By Far the best deals are on Amazon.com you can pick up a DC 25 Animal for as little as $344.95. Now the dyson ball vacuum is selling like hot cakes so I don’t know how long that deal may last.
